Dear potential golf club buyer:
Last year I was fitted for a set of PING i3 o-size graphite irons by Darrell Day at Whispering Hills Golf Club, Hanover. I had been playing with steel shaft Titleist DCIs, and held a twenty handicap. Two things immediately happened - with absolutely no other adjustment (all other clubs in my bag remained the same) I shaved approximately four shots off my game, and dropped at least one full club. My approach shots from 120 yards used to mean an 8 iron, now it's a soft nine - downhill or a slight tail wind probably means I pull out the wedge. While the golf gods will make sure that errant shots will never fully disappear, my wild shots are practically a thing of the past!
Darrell's passion for golf is evident during each portion of the custom fitting process - it is obvious that he wants you to get the best performance out of your equipment, so that you can get the most enjoyment out of your game! The process was remarkably easy, and effective - you can see it work right before your eyes. As I tell anyone who inquires about my irons, with all the infinite sizes, shapes, and strengths of the human body, golf is a sport that cries out for custom-fitted equipment. And while my game still has a long way to go, I'm having a hell of a lot more fun getting there!
